Therapy For Therapists

Taking Care of You is Essential Too

Being a service provider isn’t easy. You are constantly serving others with whatever they place in your lap.  You are:

◦ possibly married,

◦in a relationship or have your own family, and

◦may even be back in school or

◦working in/creating your own practice.

A client once asked me “With all I dump on you, how do you take care of yourself?” So therapist, I ask you that same question. No need to ponder on that now, because if you’re reading this, you’re trying to figure it out. I feel you.

With therapists, we assess:

  • Where you’re doing extremely well.

  • Where there is room to grow.

  • Your daily structure.

  • What obstacles are in your way for self care and improvement (which is usually ourselves).

  • Your overall mental, physical and emotional self care practices.

Here is the truth:

You cannot be fully helpful to others, if you are not mentally and emotionally healthy.

Most service providers struggle transitioning from work to home effectively.

Service providers struggle to say no and take on too many tasks. We really suck at this.

According to LinkedIn, Healthcare Providers rank number 1 and Social Workers/Counselors rank 3 with the highest rate for burnout.

If reading this resonates with you, and you are ready to work on your own relationship with wellness, LHC is here for you.
